The Syracuse College of Arts and Sciences was established in 1870 as the founding college at Syracuse University. It houses three academic divisions: Sciences and Mathematics, the Humanities, and the Social Sciences. The Social Science division is jointly administered with Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences is a selective liberal arts college.
